Can Dogs Eat Oranges?

Dogs Can eat oranges!

Dogs love oranges, which is good, because they are safe to eat. However you never want to give a dog an entire orange, just a few slices. As with many human foods, too much orange can upset your dog’s stomach.

In moderation however, research suggests that oranges can have many health benefits for your dog. Oranges are full of fiber, vitamins and minerals which are all very beneficial for a dog’s health.  They are also full of Vitamin C, which can help boost a dog’s immune system and help prevent cancer, due to the antioxidants.

Oranges are fat and sodium free, but in excessive amounts oranges can cause a dog to struggle with defecation, leading to gas and diarrhea.

Many fruits, like bananas, are good for dogs, because of the Vitamin C. It’s not just people who need these vitamins, but dogs on occasion as well. Many owners of dogs are concerned about what their dogs can and cannot eat since it can differ so much from what they as people can eat.

Dogs love the taste of oranges, and they make a great snack for them. As with everything, make sure you only give oranges in moderation.

The best way to give your dog an orange is to slice it up into small pieces and just give your dog a few. You can use them as snacks in general, or they are also good for training as they are very delicious tasting.

Sometimes owners are in a rush or have run out of their dog’s food. In those cases you can give your dog a few orange slices to keep them occupied until you can give them a proper meal at a later time.  So now you know, yes dogs can eat oranges. But remember, always in moderation!
